Best known as the heartbeat of Ithaca, NY’s beloved cult band The HorseFlies, percussionist Takaaki 'Taki' Masuko left Japan in 1979 to study free improv and world music in NEC's Third Stream Program. A much-lauded performer, dance accompanist, and clinician, Taki’s passion for twisting time and blending the old and borrowed with the bold and new fuels his collaborations.
